RAMAYANA BALLET
Beside Prambanan Temple, the Ramayana Ballet also becomes the interesting service for the tourist. Ramayana ballet showed at amphitheater of Prambanan temple. It played at 7 p.m. when the moon is full. The dancers who played the role, wear costume as same as their role’s character. Like the dancers who played the role of Hanoman, he wears a white shirt and his face is painted white.
Ramayana ballet tells about one of Javanese folktales. Shinta is a beautiful princess. He lives with her lovely husband names Rama. One day, Shinta was taken by a beast monster, called Rahwana. When Shinta disappear, Rama hunted for her immediately. He asked a favor from a white monkey who had a supernatural power. The monkey called Hanoman. Rama and Hanoman worked very hard to defeat Rahwana. Rahwana was very strong and has many kinds of power. Kindness is always won. Rama could take Shinta home. The different is the end of this story. Even though Rama loves his wife very much, but he decided to divorce her. Rama think, Shinta is raped by Rahawana.
